Samba School RehearsalsDescription:Rio´s Carnival is famous worldwide and attracts thousands to the samba parades . Many love to visit the headquarters of these samba schools as they rehearse the theme dance and song they will present at the parade competition. During these rehearsals the rhythm section impresses with its intensity while the samba dancers show off their steps.

GafieiraDescription: One of the most traditional city attractions is the Gafieira ball. Gafieira is a brazilian style of ballroom dancing which differs from samba in that it has some tango influences. Gafieira’s predominant quality is of a dance that favors respect and elegance between the dance couple.

Lapa.Description: Lapa is a neighborhood in downtown Rio known as the cradle of bohemia in the city. In the last decade it has undergone a cultural revival and today it hosts a wide variety of bars, pubs and, nightclubs, spread out on thirteen streets, that can satisfy various tastes .
Duration: There are activities throughout the day in the neighborhood, but it is at night that the crowds come in droves filling the streets and bars Recommendations: Wear light clothes and avoid walking in dark alleys alone. |
Bars and Restaurants.Description : Rio is a bohemian city and as such there are many options of bars and restaurants that offer a great culinary variety, ice cold draft beer (chopp) or craft beers ( the new craze in the city).
Duration: starting in the late afternoon, usually just after going to the beach and with no time to go home. Recommendations : It is customary to include a 10% tip when paying the bill. Taxis are the best option for getting around during the night hours. |
Night ClubsDescription: Rio nightlife begins relatively early and at around 11PM long lines are already forming outside night clubs. The options vary from clubs that play traditional brazilian music like samba or international music such as hip hop and house or electronic music.Duration: from 11 pm to about 4 or 5 in the morning.

Boat PartyDescription : Boat Parties have become another tradition in Rio with its music and a breathtaking view . The party takes place in a two story schooner where a DJ plays and there is a bar that serves drinks and food. The boat departs from Marina da Gloria and travels within the Guanabara Bay coast (bathroom available).
